Felicity Runs For Community Help in Park Slope (CHiPS)

I’m excited to be running the New York City marathon to support Community Help in Park Slope! I started volunteering with CHiPs' mobile pantry in December last year, after reading how the organization had increased services to support Brooklyn's newest neighbors. Through cold, rain, and heat, volunteering with CHiPS is a highlight of my week every time.

The way CHiPS has built a strong network of volunteers, organizations, and local businesses to make a real difference in the community is truly inspiring. I've been running for a long time - since I travel a lot for work, I love that running is something I can do almost anywhere, with almost no equipment - but it's been 10 years since I last ran a marathon. I'm excited to be part of CHiPS' first marathon fundraising team, and excited to combine my passion for running with my commitment to this organization. By contributing, you’re helping CHiPS continue its vital work and support for our community.

About CHiPS

Based in the Park Slope/Gowanus community of Brooklyn, CHiPS's mission is to ameliorate food insecurity and homelessness in New York City. Founded in 1971 to offer sustenance to our community, CHiPS is now a full-service soup kitchen and food pantry open six days a week, as well as a home for expectant single mothers. For over fifty years, we’ve served as a beacon of hope to thousands of our friends and neighbors in need—and we’ve been able to succeed thanks to people like you. Our friends, supporters, volunteers help ensure we keep the doors open, the meals hot, and the support ready for years to come.
