2025 NYU AMC Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

NYU’s Administrative Management Council’s (AMC) Community Service Committee is proud to once again partner with Community Help in Park Slope (CHiPS) this Thanksgiving season. All funds collected will go directly toward food costs for the CHiPS Community Kitchen—serving more than 600 meals every day—and the CHiPS Mobile Pantry Van, which distributes over 500 bags of produce and pantry staples each week to individuals and families in need. Together, we can reach our goal of $5,000 and ensure that CHiPS continues to provide nourishment and hope to our community.

About CHiPS

Based in the Park Slope/Gowanus community of Brooklyn, CHiPS's mission is to ameliorate food insecurity and homelessness in New York City. Founded in 1971 to offer sustenance to our community, CHiPS is now a full-service soup kitchen and food pantry open six days a week, as well as a home for expectant single mothers. For over fifty years, we’ve served as a beacon of hope to thousands of our friends and neighbors in need—and we’ve been able to succeed thanks to people like you. Our friends, supporters, volunteers help ensure we keep the doors open, the meals hot, and the support ready for years to come.

How Your Gift Helps

For over fifty years, you have helped us give people a hot breakfast, lunch, pantry bags and shelter services. Through your contributions, we now serve 170,000 meals every year—and a little goes a long way. CHiPS is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions are tax deductible and directly support the soup kitchen and women’s shelter.

Our meals cost $4.50
$27 = Six hot meals in our soup kitchen
$162 = Thirty-six hot meals
$215 = One month of shelter for an expecting mother
$283 = One month of shelter for mother and child

While one-time donations are welcomed, ongoing monthly contributions create a powerful impact. $50.00 a month provides 133 hot meals annually.
